Telefonica/O2/Vivo - Travel app
Creating an app and a modular campaign to meet any roaming challenge
THE APP AND THE CAMPAIGN
At VCCP we collaborated with the teams at Telefonica to create a helpful app for travellers.
We used data and research to better understand what services drain travellers' data-allowance, and then secured a partnership with TripAdvisor to pre-install most of these in our app: Maps, guides and handy tips to the main destinations across the World were now accessible in one click, at no extra cost.
The app was available from all the markets, but some of them also planned to supplement it with a highly competitive roaming tariff.
So our challenge was to come up with a highly-modular product demo that could advertise either the app, the tariff or both... across the 3 different brands that Telefonica operates from: Movistar (Spain and Latin-America), O2 (UK) and Vivo (Brasil).
Following the concept 'The latest travel essential' and using a very distinctive visual style, we created a set of modular films, print and digital-OOH assets, that could meet the seasonal needs of all these brands and markets.
WHY I LIKE IT?
This was the first global assignment from Telefonica to VCCP London, so the expectations were as high as the complexities of the politics. Same as the pigeon that director Nico Casavecchia had to film for our ad, the project went from totally chaotic to beautiful thanks to persistence.
