Telefonica - Travel app
How we launched a global travel app across all Telefonica's brands.
THE APP AND THE CAMPAIGN
At VCCP we partnered with the teams at Telefonica to create a helpful app for travellers across their entire portfolio of brands. Conceived as a global tool to help users avoid draining their data-roaming allowance, this app included pre-installed maps, TripAdvisor guides and handy tips to the main destinations across the World.
Since some markets also supplemented the app with a competitive tariff for calls and data abroad, the challenge was to come up with a straight-forward, flexible idea that could advertise both app and tariff... for every brand in Telefonica's portfolio.
'The latest travel essential' campaign included several modular video, digital, print and OOH executions that adapted to the seasonal needs from 3 brands -Movistar, O2 and Vivo- across Europe, UK, US and South America.
WHY I LIKE IT?
This app and its integrated campaign were the first global assignments from Telefonica to VCCP, so the expectations were as high as the complexities of the politics: 3 different brands operating across 3 different continents weren't an easy job to keep under control, as you might imagine.
